BuildCred Terms of Use

1. Overview

BuildCred is a platform designed to help tradespeople showcase their work, capture customer reviews, and build credibility through structured social proof and digital exposure.

By accessing or using BuildCred, you agree to these Terms of Use.

2. Eligibility

You must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Operate as a tradesperson or in a related field
• Provide accurate and up-to-date information

You are responsible for maintaining the security of any account access provided to you.

3. Project Submission & Good Faith Use

By submitting projects, media, or customer details to BuildCred, you confirm that:

• All submitted projects are genuine and relate to real work carried out by you
• All information provided is accurate, truthful, and not misleading
• Reviews submitted are from real customers
• You are acting in good faith

You agree not to submit fabricated, altered, or misleading content.

Where requested, you agree to reasonably cooperate with BuildCred in any verification process.

BuildCred Verified status is based on reasonable confidence in authenticity. Where clear misrepresentation, falsified reviews, or misleading information is identified, Verified status may be withdrawn.

4. Customer Data & Consent

When providing customer information (e.g. name, email, phone number, postcode), you confirm that:

• You have a lawful basis to share that data (including customer consent or legitimate interest)
• The customer has been informed that their details may be used for review requests and project-related communication
• Where a review is requested, the customer has agreed to be contacted for that purpose

You must not upload sensitive personal data (e.g. financial, medical, or security-related information).

BuildCred may store and process submitted project and customer information for:

• Requesting reviews (via SMS or email)
• Verification processes
• Creation of marketing media
• Promotion of completed projects

BuildCred acts as a data processor in relation to customer data and processes it in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

5. Content Licence & Use of Media

You retain ownership of your original content.

By submitting content, media, project details, or customer reviews, you grant BuildCred a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

• Use
• Reproduce
• Edit
• Adapt
• Publish
• Distribute
• Display

Such content for platform, promotional, advertising, verification, and marketing purposes.

This includes the right to create derivative works (such as structured posts, visuals, reels, or promotional materials) based on submitted content.

BuildCred may use submitted reviews and associated information for verification purposes and public-facing media, subject to applicable data protection laws and customer consent where required.

BuildCred may continue to use previously published content for archival or promotional purposes unless otherwise required by law.

6. Platform & Technology

BuildCred may operate using third-party service providers (including data storage platforms, form systems, messaging providers, analytics tools, and payment processors).

By using BuildCred, you acknowledge that your data may be securely processed via trusted third-party systems.

BuildCred may update, change, or migrate technical infrastructure at any time without affecting your agreement to these Terms.

7. Payments & Subscription

BuildCred may offer free trials or introductory periods.

Paid plans are billed monthly unless otherwise stated.

Payments are processed securely via recognised third-party providers (such as Stripe). BuildCred does not store full card details.

All payments are final unless required by applicable law.

BuildCred Verified status and associated features apply only while an active subscription is maintained. Upon cancellation:

• No new projects or reviews will be processed
• Verified status may be marked inactive

8. Cancellation & Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

BuildCred may suspend or terminate access if:

• These Terms are breached
• Misuse or misrepresentation occurs
• Fraudulent or misleading content is identified

Verified status may be withdrawn where appropriate.

9. Disclaimer

BuildCred provides structured visibility and credibility tools.

We do not:

• Guarantee business growth
• Guarantee review responses
• Guarantee enquiries
• Certify workmanship
• Act as a regulatory or governing body

The working relationship remains between you and your customers.

BuildCred is provided “as is” and “as available.”

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuildCred shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the platform.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time.

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

BuildCred Privacy Policy

We may collect:

• Contact details (e.g. name, phone number, email)
• Business information (e.g. trade type, social media accounts, region)
• Content you upload (e.g. photos, reviews, project information)
• Technical data (e.g. IP address, device, browser)
• Customer data provided by trades (e.g. customer name, contact details, postcode)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Deliver and personalise your experience
• Create and distribute marketing content
• Share your content via social media and promotional channels
• Improve the platform and services
• Send relevant communications and updates

We process customer data submitted by trades solely to:

• Request reviews via SMS or email
• Confirm authenticity where appropriate
• Create marketing content (e.g. testimonials, visuals)
• Promote completed projects (subject to consent where required)

Customer data is never made public without appropriate agreement or lawful basis.

3. Payment Data

If you subscribe to paid plans, your payment details are processed securely by recognised third-party providers (e.g. Stripe). We do not store full card details.

4. Sharing with Third Parties

We may share data with trusted service providers necessary for operating the platform (e.g. hosting, messaging, payment processing).

We do not sell personal information.

5. Data Storage & Security
